Our partner Etuge has been serving orphaned and displaced children with a primary school since the Anglophone war impacted Western Cameroon, but few of the graduates could continue to secondary school. Even those who could pay for secondary school struggled because there are few jobs for graduating students. The best way to secure a job is to have vocational skills that are always in need, so last year we finally opened a secondary school to serve these children. The school will combine academic studies with vocational skills. Academic classes started last year, and this year we were able to add vocational equipment to start teaching skills. The kids are loving the classes, and, in only the second year in operation, there are already 189 students enrolled in the school. Each year a new class will enter, and we hope in time this will revitalize a truly impoverished area.
