“Announcing the Winners of the Gemini API Developer Competition!” This competition, sponsored by Google, attracted 3,500 entries from app developers all over the world. They chose a winner in each of 9 categories. Of the winners, three came from the U.S., two from Japan, two from Germany, one from Italy, and… one from Cameroon?

Yup! One of our young changemakers, MG (or Muluh Godson), decided to enter the contest and he won with an app he calls “Trippy”! The judges said, “We’re thrilled to announce Trippy as our winner. Developed in Cameroon, Trippy leveraged the power of Gemini and Firebase to revolutionize travel planning, offering a personalized experience for adventurers worldwide.”

MG is passionate about bringing digital technology to all of Cameroon – even rural communities which don’t have electricity. With our funding, MG developed a SchoolFAQs app which helped university students excel in school, built a computer lab for a rural secondary school which helped increase enrollment from 308 students to 757, and created his own computer textbook that included practical exercises teaching employable skills for secondary students. He has many more ideas on how to bring digital technology to rural communities, and you will undoubtedly be hearing more about this amazing young man.
